1950 Studebaker Champion Convertible
How many of these have you ever seen? When I bought it for Jenay in 1986 there were 21 convertibles registered on the road in the U.S.
Jenay has always been tolerant of my collect-a-holic tendencies, but never really crazy about any particular car, until she saw one of these.
“If you ever get an antique car for me, one of these would be great” Safe bet, only 21 around when I researched it. I had no intention of looking for one. Then, while driving around San Jose, California one day, peeking out from under a tarp in the carport of an apartment building, THE NOSE!
I stopped, I borrowed, I bought, I restored, I surprised Jenay for our anniversary in 1986. She enjoyed it with her friends for many years.
Then it sat-----------and sat----------until I found the Bonneville. What a sport she is. Out with the old… in with the just not as old. Thank you honey.
